Abstract

Electricity is a very important basic need in human activities, both at home and in industry. Currently, people's need for electricity is increasing. To meet these electricity needs, there is often a distribution of loads that is initially even or balanced, but because the switching on of these loads is not synchronous, a load imbalance arises which affects the availability of electric power. Load imbalance that occurs in each phase (R, S, T) will cause losses. As electricity distribution systems continue to develop, reducing losses can result in major savings in electricity supply. The method used in carrying out the preparation of this final assignment is the Quantitative method, data collection was carried out at EDTL, E.P (Eletricidade De Timor-leste, Empresa Publica) Dili, based on the results of measurements in the field on the 500 KVA Transformer. Calculations that have been carried out to obtain the final results which shows a loading value of 58.5% during the day and 50.3% at night. The load imbalance is 13.7% during the day and 11% at night. Losses were also obtained which were caused by the emergence of neutral current flowing in the neutral conductor, resulting in results of 1.17 kW and a percentage of 0.27% during the day, while at night it was 0.21 kW and a percentage of 0.5%. Meanwhile, losses due to neutral current flowing to the ground during the day are 8.3 kW and a percentage of 1.95% during the day, while at night it is 3.05 kW and a percentage of 0.70%.
