Abstract

The public library is a local information center that provides all kinds of knowledge and information for its users. Public library services are provided on the basis of equal access for all, regardless of race, ethnicity, nation, language, religion or social status. This research was conducted at one of the Surabaya City Library and Archives Service units, namely the Surabaya City Public Library on Jalan Rungkur Asri Tengah, Surabaya. There is a problem in the research that was found, namely the lack of effectiveness in managing data, especially in searching for books. In this study, based on the problems that exist in the Rungkut Sari City Library, a WEB-based library information system will be built using the CodeIgniter framework and MySQL database with the Rocchio Relevance Feedback method approach where this method will make it easier to search for books. With this method, keywords entered in the search form will be processed through four stages, namely tokenizing, filtering, stemming, and term weighting so that you will get the most relevant results for the keywords. The existence of an information system with a search system using this method is expected to facilitate and support effectiveness in managing library data at the Rungkut Sari City Library, Surabaya Public Library.
