Abstract

A consumer lifestyle is a way of life that is identified as someone spending time on needs or interests that they consider important. Instagram social media is a place where students' daily habits or lives are carried out. With all the information available on social media, students' lifestyles change. The aim of this research is to determine the influence of Instagram social media on the consumptive lifestyle of 2022 Untag Surabaya communication science students. The theory used is the Consumer Culture Theory. The research method used is quantitative research, because you want to know how big the influence of variables X and Variable Y is using data. This research uses a Purposive Sampling technique where this sampling determines the research sample through a careful consideration process based on considerations, for example the nature of the population and previously known characteristics. That way, the results will be representative. This research uses a data collection technique, namely a Google Form media questionnaire. Statistical data calculations use SPSS software version 27.0.
