Abstract

Kediri is a region in the East Java province, comprising both a city and districts. After the pandemic, there is data indicating that the bed to population ratio (BTR) does not meet the WHO standard of 5 beds per 1000 people. In the city of Kediri, the ratio still stands at 3.75 beds per 1000 people. Therefore, there is a need for the construction of healthcare facilities. The design of a Type C Hospital in Kediri is an effort to address this issue. The research methodology employed in this scientific paper is the Literature Study Method, which serves as the primary source for this paper. In the design process, new post-pandemic hospital design rules are applied, combined with the Biophilic Architecture approach. This approach allows humans to coexist directly with a healthy environment, providing a place that can alleviate stress by incorporating natural elements into the design. This, undoubtedly, will assist patients in their recovery from conditions affected by a healthy environment. Many elements of Biophilic architecture can be implemented, including presenting lush gardens, adding climbing plants to several hospital walls, and arranging natural lighting to create an illumination that is neither too bright nor too dim. An indoor garden with various colorful flowers is also constructed to aid in the recovery process of patients with visual impairments.
