Abstract

Development developments in the construction sector are increasingly advanced and sophisticated. One of them is concrete technology. Concrete technology itself has enormous potential in the construction sector, whether for building materials, buildings, bridges, piers and so on. In this test, additional wood powder was used in the flowing concrete mixture. Wood powder contains levels of cellulose, hemylose and lignin, which have the benefit of binding materials well and also have adhesion and dispersion properties which work to inhibit the diffusion of water in the material, as well as increasing the compressive strength of concrete. In this research, an analysis of the effect of using wood powder as an additive in flowing concrete was carried out with wood powder variations of 0%, 0.25%, 0.50%, 1%, 2%, 3% and 5% with a mixture of Superplasticizer additives (  ViscoCrete -3115N) of 1.5%. From the results of this research, the largest slump flow value was obtained at a percentage of 0% with a slump flow value of 50.75 cm so that it meets the requirements for flowable concrete. The largest bulk density was obtained at a percentage of 0.25% in both dry and wet conditions with a bulk density value of 2357.56 kg/m3 for the wet condition and 2373.03 kg/m3 in the dry condition. The largest water absorption value was obtained at a sawdust percentage of 5% with a water absorption value of 4.67%. Then the maximum compressive strength value was obtained at a percentage of 0.25% with a compressive strength value of 24.61 Mpa. From the results of this research, the use of sawdust as an additional material in flowing concrete can reduce the slump flow value but can increase the density of concrete both in wet and dry conditions, the water absorption value and the compressive strength of the concrete when compared with normal concrete.
