Abstract

Electricity is a basic need for humanity today. Electricity is proven to be very necessary in people's daily activities and if there is no electricity, people will experience negative impacts, namely disruption to their daily life activities. And conversely, if electricity is well available, humans will experience a positive impact, namely the fulfillment of electricity consumption for their daily needs. Increasing economic growth in the industrial sector and the increasingly rapid pace of development in the city of Surabaya, especially the Sidoarjo area, will demand greater and higher quality electrical energy. So that electrical energy can be distributed continuously, equipment efficiency must be maintained, one of which is the transformer. In distributing electrical power, transformers are used as a step-down transformer and step-up transformer and are usually located at main substations or distribution substations. In transformers there are losses, both losses caused by current flowing in the copper wire, losses caused by alternating flux in the iron core, or losses caused by eddy currents in the iron core which result in a lack of efficiency in the transformer. Based on this, the title of this research is "Efficiency Analysis of the 60 MVA Power Transformer at the Babadan Sidoarjo Main Substation" which aims to determine the value of losses and efficiency values ​​that arise due to load imbalance between phases on the 60 MVA Power Transformer at the Main Substation Babadan Sidoarjo. From the research carried out, the final results obtained show that the average loss value is (290.4 kW) and the average percentage value for efficiency is (99.49%).
