Abstract

Social media addiction is no stranger to being a problem experienced by some people in the world, including Indonesia. Social media addiction behavior can have a negative impact on the individual, such as being easily tired and easily unfocused, losing interest in physical activities and hobbies, and can damage the individual's career and relationships with other individuals. Social media addiction in NCTzen is related to an excessive interest in NCT and not wanting to be left behind the experience of other fans who follow NCT. This study uses quantitative methods with multiple regression analysis correlation techniques. This research is a population study using 110 respondents from the NCTzen Surabaya Fanbase. The results showed that parasocial interaction was not significant with social media addiction with a p value of 0.952 < 0.05 and a significant fear of missing out with social media addiction with a p value of = 0.000 < 0.01. The correlation results of the hypothesis show that there is a relationship between parasocial interaction and fear of missing out with social media addiction in Surabaya NCTzen with a significance value of p = 0.000 < 0.01. This means that the higher the parasocial interaction behavior, and the higher the fear of missing out behavior, the higher the social media addiction behavior. And otherwise the lower the parasocial interaction behavior, and the lower the fear of missing out behavior, the lower the social media addiction behavior.
