Abstract

Implementation of the principles of good governance in Tambaksari District Office of Surabaya is less than the maximum. The purpose of this study is to describe the application of principles of good governance in improving public services in the District Office Tambaksari Surabaya. Technique of data analysis is done by: analysis before in field, data reduction, display data and draw conclusion. The results showed that the application of the principles of good governance in Tambaksari District Office Surabaya City is as follows: a) Principles of professionalism is known from several things, among others: employees who always try to provide maximum service to the community, always show good attitude and moral and polite to the public; b) The principle of accountability is known from several matters, including: well-positioned and polite employees when providing services to the public, strict employees while providing services to the public; c) The principle of transparency in service at Tambaksari Sub-district Office of Surabaya City is known from several things, among others: information related to the service is always communicated to the public and nothing is hidden; d) The principle of service excellence in service is known from several things, among others: the clarity of procedures and is in accordance with community needs; service tariffs that are in compliance with existing regulations and public purchasing power; e) The principles of democracy and participation are known from several matters, among others: all communities in Tambaksari sub-district have the right to receive services; f) The principle of efficiency and effectiveness is known from several things, among others: the services provided are considered optimal, there are no certain constraints when providing services to the community; and g) The principle of law supremacy and acceptable to all societies is known from several matters, including: each society receives fair service, the service given to the public upholds human rights (Human Rights).
