Abstract

The Jalan Raya Waru intersection is one of the crucial intersections in Sidoarjo, so it is necessary to analyze the traffic performance on Jalan Raya Waru to provide the most effective way to solve the congestion that occurs. By using the Indonesian Road Capacity Manual method (MKJI 1997) and processing primary and secondary data as a basis for determining the value of traffic volume, capacity, degree of saturation and queue length. The occurrence of traffic jams is due to traffic jams in the volume of vehicles during certain traffic jams so that the accumulation of vehicles causes a halt in the flow of traffic at an intersection. The existence of shops around the road section greatly influences the increase in vehicle volume, especially the side obstacle factor which is quite large, such as pedestrians and parking vehicles, especially 4-wheeled vehicles. This research was carried out by conducting a traffic survey on the number of vehicles that passed for 3 days, namely Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. From the results of the study, the highest traffic volume was at the Jalan Raya Waru intersection, Jalan Letjen Sutoyo, Sidoarjo Regency, which occurred on Tuesday at 06.00-07.00 WIB. Jalan Raya Waru Sidoarjo – Surabaya (South) with an intersection capacity of 2816 pcu/hour, degree of saturation of 0.86 and queue length of 132 m. Jalan Letjen Sutoyo (West) with an intersection capacity of 746 pcu/hour, degree of saturation of 0.86 and a queue length of 69 m and Jalan Raya Waru Surabaya - Sidoarjo (North) with an intersection capacity of 2,873 pcu/hour, degree of saturation of 0.87 and a queue length of 90 m.
