Abstract
The demand for shoe pads made from sponges is still quite high, especially in Indonesia. Because wearing shoes for a long time causes the shoe base to become hard and uncomfortable to wear. To add comfort in wearing shoes, giving a shoe pad sponge can be a solution. In general, shoe pads for the middle and lower industries mostly still use simple tools to produce them. The use of a pneumatic system can be an alternative to simplify and increase the amount of production. In a underlay sponge cutting tool, a pneumatic system is used as the main drive tool for the blade to cut the sheet overboard sponge. The tyres used are 32mm, 50mm and 80mm in diameter with the pressure applied to each tyre of 2bar, 3bar, 4bar, 5bar, 6bar and 7bar. Applying different pressure to the pneumatic variable diameter will cause a compressive force and momentum that will move the pounder to put pressure on the 2mm EVA sponge so that it can be cut according to the desired mold shape. From the description above, there is a difference in the cutting results produced by the compressive force and momentum given by each pneumatic. The best cutting results on pneumatic diameter of 32mm with a given pressure of 6bar and 7bar. The 32mm pneumatic produces a compressive force of 482.544 N at a pressure of 6bar and 562.968 N at an pressure of 7 bar. The 32mm pneumatic also produces a collision momentum of 6,761
