Abstract

Pada suatu pembangkit atau sumber listrik sudah pasti mempunyai peralatan-peralatan proteksi sebagai pengaman dari instalasi tersebut. Pada Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Uap (PLTU) sendiri mempunyai beberapa komponen utama yang harus mempunyai pengaman itu sendiri, hal tersebut di peruntukkan untuk menjaga peralatan tersebut agar dapat berfungsi secara normal, layak operasi, dan juga aman bagi semua yang berada di sekitar pembangkit atau sumber listrik. Dari masalah yang ada itulah yang mendasari penelitian ini untuk melakukan analisis terhadap salah satu bagian proteksi yaitu pemutus daya atau Circuit Breaker (CB) yang terpasang agar sesuai dan layak digunakan pada pembangkit sebesar 250 MW serta aman dan normal pada saat beroperasi. Tujuan dilakukannya pemasangan circuit breaker salah satunya yaitu sebagai proteksi pengaman pada pembangkit agar dapat beroperasi secara normal dan terhindar dari gangguan salah satunya hubung singkat. Hubung singkat sendiri merupakan salah satu gangguan dalam sistem tenaga listrik yang mempunyai karakteristik sementara, hal ini harus dapat diatasi oleh peralatan pengaman sistem proteksi tersebut. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah ketika pada Software China diperoleh arus gangguan hubung singkat 3 Phasa sebesar 49.136 kA dan hasil perhitungan manual arus gangguan hubung singkat 3 Phasa sebesar 1491.98 ∠ 90°. Sehingga untuk mencari nilai CB yang tepat diketahui dengan mengalikan hasil pada software China dikalikan dengan 120% sebagai faktor safety dan di dapat nilai sebesar 58.963 kA.
