Abstract

This study aims to look at the relationship between conformity and motivation to learn in new students. This research was conducted at the Faculty of Psychology, University of Surabaya August 17, 1945 with the number of study subjects 120 new students. The method of collecting data using a scale of motivation to learn and conformity. Both scales are arranged researcher with Likert model. The technique used in this research is the analysis of the test data correlation. The method used is in the form of statistical parametric correlation. Based on the calculation of SPSS version 16.0 Pearson correlation coefficient (r xy) at = -0.344 at the significance level (p) = 0,000. Therefore, the level of significance that are less than 0,010, the mean between variables Conformity (X) with learning motivation variable (Y) has a negative correlation; very weak and very significant, which means that there is a negative relationship between motivation and conformity.
