Abstract
UD. Karya Logam Steel is a company in the field of making cassava chopping machines, onion chopping machines, and shredded choppers. Based on demand data that fluctuates, the company only guesses in making purchases for raw material inventories, because the company has not implemented raw material planning for the production process in the next period, as a result there is often a shortage of raw materials that can hamper the production process. In addition, excess raw materials are also a waste of capital costs in the form of raw materials that have not been produced. Thus, it is necessary to plan and control the right raw material inventory so that the production process can run smoothly and inventory costs can be kept to a minimum. In this study, the forecasting method used is the Naive Method, Exponential Smoothing, and Moving Average. The lowest error value was obtained in the Exponential Smoothing method, for the cassava chopper the average MAD error value was 7.824, for the onion chopper the MAD error value was 6.981 and for the chaotic chopper the MAD error value was 5.94. For processing MRP data using lot sizing techniques, namely LFL (Lot For Lot), FPR (Fixed Period Requirement) and POQ (Period Order Quantity).
