Abstract

The structure of employment in Indonesia is dominated by the informal sector. Of the approximately 119 million existing labor force, most of the workers or 65.76 percent belong to the informal employment category while the remaining 34.24 percent are formal sector workers. The fate of informal workers is often very dependent on the employer or the place where the company works. The bond of employment relations in the informal sector is often also based solely on the principle of trust, mutual cooperation. formulation of the problem in this study 1) What is the regulation of informal workers in labor law in Indonesia? and 2) How to resolve labor disputes in informal workers? The method that will be used in this research is a qualitative / normative juridical method. Namely research that refers to legal norms contained in legislation and norms of life that develop in the community related to social security informal workers. This research is analytical descriptive, which presents legislation relating to legal theories that are the object of research. The results of legal protection studies for informal workers so as not to become victims of economic exploitation are among others: 1) Dissemination and / or dissemination of provisions of legislation relating to the protection of economically and / or sexually exploited informal workers. 2) Monitoring, reporting and imposing sanctions on people who carry out economic exploitation of informal workers and 3) Engagement of various government agencies, companies, trade unions, non-governmental organizations as well as the community in the elimination of economic and / or sexual exploitation of informal workers
