Abstract

UD Doa Emak is an UKM engaged in manufacturing which produces several semi-manual machines. The main products of UD Doa Emak include cassava cutting machines, meat grinding machines, coconut grater machines, coconut milk presses, chicken feather removal machines, and others. The innovation of cassava chips in the market which is currently increasingly diverse requires UD Doa Emak to innovate its cassava cutting machine by replacing the blade with a wave shape. These conditions make UKM engaged in manufacturing such as UD Doa Emak need a wave blade maker tool for cassava cutting machines with wavy cuts. For solving problems that enhance the process of designing and manufacturing wave knife making tools. To solve the problems stated by this design, making tools that consider ergonomic aspects. The use of ergonomic aspects is intended so that workers can work effectively, efficiently, and comfortably on equipment. The working principle of this tool uses a tool process in a way that is in accordance with this way of working using a roll process that is rolled using the equipment as a mattress with a motor driving device. The results of the study obtained an ergonomic tool with tool dimensions with a frame length of 40cm, with a wide frame. The underframe is 35cm, the width of the upper frame is 25cm, and the height of the frame is 60cm. In the process of making one wave knife it takes 15 seconds and this tool is capable of making wave knives with a maximum thickness of 1mm.
