Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kecemasan dan regulasi emosi dengan emotional eating pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa tingkat akhir dari satu universitas negeri dan satu universitas swasta di Surabaya. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 111 mahasiswa yang diperoleh melalui teknik purposive sampling dan ditentukan menggunakan analisis a priori dengan program G*Power. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif korelasional. Instrumen penelitian meliputi Skala Kecemasan (Clark & Beck, 2012) dengan 35 aitem valid, Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (Gross & John, 2003) yang telah dimodifikasi dengan 16 aitem valid, serta Dutch Eating Behaviour Questionnaire (Van Strien dkk., 1986) yang telah dimodifikasi dengan 22 aitem valid. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan menggunakan Analisis Regresi Linier Berganda. Hasil analisis secara simultan menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara kecemasan dan regulasi emosi dengan emotional eating (F =28,868; R Square = 0,348). Artinya kedua variabel independen memberikan kontribusi sebesar 34,8% terhadap emotional eating. Secara parsial, kecemasan berhubungan positif dan signifikan dengan emotional eating (t=2,365; p=0,010), sehingga hipotesis dua diterima. Regulasi emosi berhubungan negatif dan signifikan dengan emotional eating (t=-3,067; p=0,003), sehingga hipotesis tiga diterima. Temuan ini menunjukkan pentingnya pengelolaan kecemasan dan penguatan regulasi emosi dalam upaya menekan kecenderungan emotional eating pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir.
