Abstract

Social Relationship Quality (kualitas hubungan sosial) merupakan aspek penting dalam perkembangan psikososial remaja, karena berperan dalam pembentukan identitas dan kemampuan menjalin relasi interpersonal yang sehat. Dalam konteks perkembangan teknologi digital, kualitas hubungan sosial remaja berpotensi dipengaruhi oleh Fear of Missing Out (FOMO), yaitu kekhawatiran berlebihan akan tertinggal dari pengalaman sosial orang lain, serta perilaku phubbing yang ditandai dengan kecenderungan mengabaikan interaksi langsung karena fokus pada gawai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji hubungan antara FoMO dan kualitas hubungan sosial pada remaja di Kota Surabaya, serta menguji peran phubbing sebagai mediator dalam hubungan tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 381 remaja berusia 15-19 tahun. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan skala FoMO Scale, skala Quality Relationship Inventory, dan skala Generic Scale of Phubbing. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan PROCESS Macro model 4. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh langsung FoMO terhadap kualitas hubungan sosial tidak signifikan secara statistik. Namun demikian, FoMO berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap phubbing, dan phubbing berpengaruh negatif signifikan terhadap kualitas hubungan sosial. Selain itu, hasil uji mediasi menunjukkan bahwa phubbing memediasi secara signifikan hubungan antara FoMO dan kualitas hubungan sosial. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa pengaruh FoMO terhadap kualitas hubungan sosial remaja berlangsung secara tidak langsung melalui peningkatan perilaku phubbing.
