Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara cognitive flexibility dan problem-focused coping dengan prokrastinasi akademik pada siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP). Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa SMP Negeri 22 Surabaya pada tahun ajaran 2024/2025, dengan jumlah populasi sebanyak 714 siswa dan partisipan sebanyak 151 siswa yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif korelasional dengan instrumen berupa skala Likert untuk mengukur tiga variabel utama. Hasil analisis regresi linier berganda menunjukkan bahwa cognitive flexibility dan problem-focused coping secara simultan menjadi prediktor signifikan terhadap prokrastinasi akademik (F = 86,650; p < 0,05). Secara parsial, cognitive flexibility memiliki prediktor negatif signifikan terhadap prokrastinasi akademik (t = -2,313; p = 0,022), sedangkan problem-focused coping juga Prediktor negatif signifikan (t = -6,763; p = 0,000). Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya pengembangan kemampuan berpikir fleksibel dan strategi coping aktif untuk menurunkan kecenderungan prokrastinasi pada siswa SMP.
