Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kecenderungan narsistik dengan intensitas penggunaan media sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif korelasional dengan teknik purposive sampling dan jumlah responden sebanyak 163 orang berusia 15–19 tahun. Alat ukur yang digunakan berupa skala kecenderungan narsistik berdasarkan teori Raskin dan Terry serta skala intensitas penggunaan media sosial berdasarkan teori Ajzen. Hasil uji korelasi menggunakan Spearman Rho menunjukkan koefisien sebesar 0,281 dengan nilai signifikansi p = 0,000. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif yang signifikan antara kecenderungan narsistik dengan intensitas penggunaan media sosial. Artinya, semakin tinggi kecenderungan narsistik seseorang, maka semakin tinggi pula intensitas penggunaan media sosialnya. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa media sosial menjadi salah satu sarana ekspresi diri bagi individu dengan ciri kepribadian narsistik.
