Abstract

Competition anxiety and its relationship to sports performance is one of the most discussed topics. When athletes who have no experience or little experience in competing will feel higher anxiety than athletes who already have experience. Athletes with minimal experience will feel anxious and have a lack of self-confidence, therefore athletes will be afraid of defeat and fear of not being in accordance with the expected expectations, and reduce motivation so that athletes will fail in the match. The main objective of this study was to determine whether there is a Relationship Between Mental Toughness and Self-Confidence with Competition Anxiety in Karate Athletes. This study uses a quantitative approach. Determination of the number of samples in this determination used purposive sampling of 227 subjects who were willing to take part in the study. Data were collected through surveys and analyzed using non-parametric statistical methods. The analysis showed that 106 subjects had competition anxiety in the moderate category (46.7%), 93 subjects had moderate mental toughness (41%) and 94 research subjects had moderate self-confidence (41.4%).
