Abstract

Online motorcycle taxi drivers often face challenges such as uncertain income, unsafe working conditions, and a lack of support, all of which can negatively affect their psychological well-being. Addressing these issues requires understanding the dynamics between work environment perceptions, psychological well-being, and the role of emotional support. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between perceptions of work environment quality and psychological well-being among online motorcycle taxi drivers in Sidoarjo City, with emotional support as a moderating variable. The population of this study consists of online motorcycle taxi drivers working in Sidoarjo City, with a sample size of 300 individuals determined using the Isaac and Michael formula with a 5% margin of error. This study employs a correlational quantitative approach with purposive sampling techniques. The measurement instruments used include the Scale of Psychological Well-being (SPWB) (18 items), the work environment quality perception scale (17 items), and the emotional support scale (11 items). The results of the study include moderated analysis using the JAMOVI.. The results indicate that perceptions of work environment quality have a significant and negative relationship with psychological well-being (Z = -40.93; Estimate = -0.94832; p < 0.05). Additionally, emotional support significantly moderates the relationship between perceptions of work environment quality and psychological well�being (Z = -5.49; p < 0.001), with the type of moderation being quasi�moderation. This study concludes that emotional support can weaken the negative impact of poor perceptions of work environment quality on the psychological well-being of online motorcycle taxi drivers. This research can serve as a basis for creating a more supportive work environment and strengthening emotional support for online motorcycle taxi drivers.
