Abstract

The Department of Industry and Trade of Sidoarjo Regency has several fields, one of which is the People's Market Sector, which has a freelance Daily Employee (THL) as an employee / officer in the field, that the role of human resources is the most valuable resource. The problem in this research is motivation and compensation. This study aims to determine whether Motivation and Compensation affect the Daily Workforce Performance of the Department of Industry and Trade of Sidoarjo Regency (in the Field of People's Market). The research method used is a quantitative method, with sampling techniques based on the Slovin formula. The population is 173 Freelance Daily Workers and valid data for a sample of 63 Freelance Daily Workers. Data analysis techniques using the SPSS version 16 program. Based on the results of the analysis of this study it was found that (1) Motivation has a positive effect on the Performance of Daily Freelancers (2) Compensation has a positive effect on the Performance of Daily Freelancers (3) Motivation and Compensation simultaneously has a positive effect on performance Freelance. Based on the results of this study, the Department of Industry and Trade of Sidoarjo Regency, especially in the Field of People's Markets should provide increased Motivation and Compensation, because it is certain that an increase in Motivation and Compensation will have a positive impact on increasing the Performance of Daily Employees of the Department of Industry and Trade of Sidoarjo Regency, especially in the Field of Public Markets .
