Abstract

The beauty industry in Indonesia is currently growing very rapidly. The development of this industry has led to increasingly fierce business competition. Companies must be able to develop the right marketing strategy in order to influence consumers in their purchasing decisions. In an effort to win the competition Scarlett Whitening collaborates with EXO as a brand ambassador. This is one form of Korean Wave influence. The formulation of the problem in this study is whether there is an influence of brand ambassadors and brand trust on purchasing decisions on Scarlett Whitening products at Shopee. The purpose of this study is to determine and analyze the influence of EXO as a brand ambassador and brand trust on purchasing decisions on Scarlett Whitening products at Shopee. This type of research uses quantitative methods with data collection techniques using a questionnaire. The population in this study were consumers who had bought Scarlett Whitening X EXO products at Shopee with a sample of 100 respondents. The analysis method used in this research is multiple linear regression analysis, instrument test consisting of validity and reliability tests, classical assumption test consisting of normality test, multicollinearity test, heteroscedasticity test, linearity test, and hypothesis testing consisting of t test, F test with the help of the IBM SPSS version 25 program. The results of this study indicate that brand ambassadors have a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions on Scarlett Whitening products at Shopee, brand trust has a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions on Scarlett Whitening products at Shopee, and brand ambassadors and brand trust simultaneously significant effect on purchasing decisions on Scarlett Whitening products at Shopee.
