Abstract

Public transportation has an important role for people in urban and rural areas, especially for people with disabilities. Therefore, there is a need to provide transportation facilities and infrastructure so that human mobility takes place safely, comfortably, regularly, both in terms of time and cost. One solution is to provide land transportation routes that are efficient, especially in terms of speed, low cost. In this context, providing public transportation, especially for people with disabilities, is the government's responsibility because it is related to the interests of the wider community. The aims of this research are; 1. To find out the role of the East Java class II land transportation management center in providing facilities for people with disabilities at the Type A Arya Wiraraja Terminal, Sumenep Regency. 2. To find out the obstacles and challenges faced by the East Java class II land transportation management center in providing facilities for people with disabilities at the Arya Wiraraja Type A Terminal, Sumenep Regency. The results of the research provide the fact that the implementation of policies by BPTD Class II East Java has not achieved the expected level of success, for several factors including. Lack of understanding and information, there are still many people who do not understand or even know the regulations, as well as a lack of dissemination of information regarding these policies. The lack of facilities at the terminal, the facilities at the terminal are considered inadequate, including for people with disabilities. Therefore, further efforts are needed to increase policy dissemination and improve facilities at the terminal so that they can meet the needs of people with disabilities. The conclusion obtained from this research is that the implementation of policies by BPTD Class II East Java is less than optimal. This shows the need for further efforts in socializing and disseminating information related to these policies to the public more effectively. In addition, the facilities at the terminal are still deemed inadequate to meet the needs of people with disabilities, so it is necessary to improve facilities to ensure adequate accessibility for them.
