Abstract

With the features presented, Twitter or X has become one of the most used social media in Indonesia. Various kinds of activities can be carried out on this platform, for example expressing fan creativity. Thus, this research focuses on the utilizations of Twitter or X to express the creativity of Boys Love Thailand’s fans by writing alternative universe stories. Boys Love Thailand’s fans were chosen as research subjects because it is a current popular phenomenon, especially on Twitter or X. Using participatory media culture by Henry Jenkins, it can be seen how fans use Twitter or X. The research method used is exploratory qualitative with a virtual ethnography approach to do the observations. The results of this research show how fans use Twitteror X based on participation’s forms by Henry Jenkins, which include affiliation, expression, collaborative problem solving, and circulation.
