Abstract

An organization seeks to build trust through leaders who have a strong vision and mission. Sirarahi further explained that the type of leader who has a strong vision and commitment and is able to influence the behavior of other people is transformational leadership. The aim of this research is to determine and analyze the effectiveness of the transformational leadership model in improving organizational performance. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The research focus uses indicators from transformational leadership theory: (1) Ideal Influence, (2) Inspirational Motivation, (3) Intellectual Stimulation, (4) Personal Concern and organizational performance indicators: (1) Percentage of achievement of performance targets (2) Realization of growth organizational budget (3) Organizational contribution to programs created by leaders (4) Presence/attendance (5) Level of satisfaction with services. The research location is the Surabaya City Social Service. Research data sources come from primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques are interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis techniques are taken from data collection, data reduction, data presentation and verification. The results of this research can be concluded to be effective, because it meets the indicators of the theory determined by the researcher. The conclusion is that because the Transformational Leadership theory by Bernard M. Bass is quite effective, the results will influence the effectiveness of organizational performance (Muhammad Basri and Rosfiah Arsal 2022) which also meets the following indicators: Percentage of achievement of performance targets that are already good because they have been achieved. achieving targets as they should, the realization of the growth of the organization's budget is good because the budgeting is effective and efficient, the organization's contribution to the program created by the leader is good because all each organizational unit has contributed, attendance is good to increase productivity and quality of work because achieving performance targets is also optimal, the level of satisfaction with services at the Surabaya City Social Service is good because it is in category A both in terms of service and the community.
