Abstract

Camel Mandiri is a home industry engaged in manufacturing that produces products in the form of Adjuster bolts and Adjuster nails This industry has an office located on Jalan Medokan Asri Utara I Surabaya. The raw materials used by his business are bolts, nails, and HDPE type plastic pellets which are processed using a semi-injection machine. Camel Mandiri MSMEs are currently experiencing problems in planning a production plan for the products they produce. Fluctuating demand and the absence of proper production planning make the company experience excess and shortage of product inventory, if experiencing overproduction will cause a buildup of inventory in storage space. With the accumulation of inventory, the production process stops due to insufficient storage space. To overcome the problems that occur, Camel Mandiri MSMEs need to make the right production planning in overcoming these problems so that they get finished product inventory in quantities that are not excess and also not lacking by using the Run Out Time (ROT) method. This method provides product-related solutions that are scheduled for production planning in advance and respond well to demand. Some improvement scenarios in production planning carried out are the first scenario, namely weekly production, while the second scenario uses production on a 10-day work basis. Based on the results of research and calculations carried out from these two scenarios, optimal calculation results have been obtained in production planning with the selected ROT, namely the second scenario with production planning on a 10-day work basis. The amount of costs obtained / incurred from the first scenario in reducing raw material costs is Rp. 678,395,913,-. These results are obtained smaller than those obtained by companies that do not have aggregates in their production planning.
