Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the relationship between Dating Violence and the tendency for Self-Injury in Dating Couples. The hypothesis proposed is that there is a positive relationship between dating violence and the tendency for self-injury in dating couples. This research design uses quantitative correlational methods. The subjects of this research were 135 people who were dating in Surabaya and Sidoarjo. This research uses a data collection method with a psychological measurement scale, which consists of two scales, namely the dating violence scale and the self�injury scale. Share data using Google forms online. The data obtained was then analyzed using product moment analysis techniques with the help of SPSS 24 For Windows. Based on the results of the data analysis that has been carried out, it is obtained that rxy is -0.706 with a significance value of p = 0.000, where p < 0.01 means that there is a very significant negative relationship between dating violence and the tendency to self-injure. Thus the hypothesis proposed in this research is rejected. It is possible that the hypothesis in this study was rejected because high levels of violence do not cause someone to self-injure.
