Abstract

Currently technology is developing very rapidly, especially developments in the technical field, one of which is mixed materials or fiber, which is very influential in the maritime world. In the boat industry, many boats are made of wood, where the majority of the wood used is strong wood and which requires sacrificing forests, therefore we are looking for alternatives to replace this wood. Previously, this material was commonly found around us as waste. And from this bagasse it is hoped that there will be a material that has advantages compared to other materials. So that it affects the mechanical properties of materials in this scope, it is necessary to carry out detailed research and observations on these materials. In this research, we combined bagasse fiber with polyester resin with mixed variations with a ratio of polyester resin and sugar cane fiber, namely 50%:50%, 60%: 40%, 70%:30%. And with 3 layers, 4 layers, 5 layers, in each variation of Polyester Resin and Cane Amaps Fiber. The test results show the tensile strength with a layer variation of 70%: 30%5 layers, which has a better tensile strength value, namely 86.4 Kg or 847.584 Newtons. In impact testing, specimens with variations of 60%: 40% 5 layers are stronger and have a greater impact value, namely 0.153 joules/mm?. From the results of the Impact Test and Tensile Test, the variations above show better results than the others.
