Abstract

In this study to determine the effect of the welding results of aluminum Alloy 6061 material using the SMAW (Shield Metal Arc Welding) welding process. And has a tensile test calculation on aluminum alloy 6061 specimens with currents of 100 A, 110 A, 120 A and uses coolant SAE 40 oil, water, used cooking oil. Then the results of these calculations are averaged from variations in Ampere Current and variations in coolant, it can be seen that the greatest tensile strength value is in the aluminum alloy 6061 specimen. Current 100 A SAE 40 oil cooler has a tensile strength of 6.16 (N/mm2) and has a strain value of 68.88%. In the welding current of 110 A the highest voltage value was found in used cooking oil coolers of 6.41 (N/mm2) with a strain value of 83.78%. In the welding current of 120 A, the highest voltage value was found in water cooling of 6.15 (N/mm2) with a strain value of 57.96%. In the raw material, the stress value is 9.6 (N/mm2) with a strain value of 2.19%. As well as using micro test testing which aims to look for the color of the aluminum Solit Solution phase, which is shown in color. gray and black Mg2Si phase The Mg and Si content greatly influences its properties Aluminum mechanics: When the two components are at the right temperature, the alloy works to form Mg2Si. there are differences in the weld zone, HAZ and base metal.
