Abstract

This thesis analyzes the public relations of the Surabaya City DPRD Secretariat in absorbing the aspirations of the community. This research is motivated by problems that occur when there are community aspirations. So the role of public relations is needed in managing community aspirations. The purpose of writing this thesis is to find out how the role of public relations in absorbing community aspirations is used by the public relations of the Surabaya City DPRD secretariat. This research shows that the role of public relations is in absorbing community aspirations, managing the course of community aspirations in order to facilitate and document activities so that they can be processed into news for the public. community and documented by public relations. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with the selection of informants using purposive sampling techniques or certain considerations. The results of this research show that the role of public relations of the Surabaya City DPRD Secretariat in absorbing community aspirations is by providing full freedom to the community and serving public opinion, providing information and managing information, facilitating community and council activities and collaborating with other related parties.
