Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of self-esteem and social support with psychological well-being of teachers in the village. The variables studied in this study are psychological well-being as independent variables, self-esteem and social support as the dependent variable. This research uses quantitative research methods. The subjects in this study were teachers who had double jobs and lived in a village with 140 men and women. The research instrument used was the psychological welfare scale and self-esteem scale and the social support scale compiled using a Likert scale. The method of data analysis uses regression analysis. The results of data analysis show that there is a relationship between self�esteem and social support and psychological well-being of the teacher. t count of t = 3,718 at p = 0,000 (p <0.01) which means it is accepted, social support does not affect psychological well-being of teachers in the village. This can be seen from the t-count level of t = 1,815 at p = 0.072 (p <0.01) which means rejected. The results of the study above conclude that psychological well-being is acceptable because of self-esteem and social support, but social support does not affect psychological well-being of teachers in the village.
