Abstract

Kurikulum Merdeka is a new curriculum set by the Ministry of Education , Culture, Research and Technology in 2022. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of implementing the independent curriculum at the Center for Community Learning Activities Insan Cerdas Indonnesia in Surabaya City in achieving the objectivitas of PKBM Insan Cerdas Indonesia. The independent curriculum provides learning opportunities that are free and as comfortable as possible for student s so that students have portofolios that suit their interest. The sources for the research were the founders, teachers, students from PKBM Insan Cerdas Indonesia, as well as from the Surabaya City Education Office. Methods of data collection using interviews, observation, and documentaion. The data analysis method was carried out using a qualitative descriptive method using a phenomenological approach. The results of this study indicate that the independent curriculum is affective in achieving the objectives of the PKBM Insan Cerdas Indonesia, but in its implementation the independent curriculum is not new for the Indonesian Intelligent Student PKBM. So the steps taken at thid time are to be better prepare students for the world of business and industry.
