Abstract

Sexual behavior is one of the problems that afflicts most adolescents in Indonesia, sexual behavior in general is behavior related to genitals or matters relating to intimate relationships between men and women. This sexual behavior tends to occur in adolescents who are in a dating relationship based on a sense of affection, love, and high feelings of passion for their partner which causes these adolescents to want to try this. Many factors influence adolescents in engaging in sexual behavior ranging from internal factors, namely self-control and external factors, namely the intensity of social media use. The purpose of this study was to determine the simultaneous and partial relationship between self-control and intensity of social media use with sexual behavior in adolescents of SMK Class XI Accounting Wachid Hasyim Surabaya. This study uses measuring instruments from the sexual behavior scale, self-control scale, and social media usage intensity scale. The results of the multiple regression analysis test simultaneously showed a significant directional relationship of (F = 38.579, p = 0.00 <0.05), partially self-control and sexual behavior showed a significant negative relationship with a value of (t = -6.866, p = 0.000 <0. 05) as well as the intensity of social media use and sexual behavior showed an insignificant positive relationship with the value (t = 1.885, p = 0.062>0.05) and the contribution given relatively (R square = 0.406) of 40.60% to sexual behavior, self-control of 34.77% and 5.84% of the intensity of social media use.
