Abstract
PT. Romi Violeta is a furniture company in Indonesia which specializes in wood and rattan. One of the products produced by this company is the Nice Burlwood Console Table product. It is known that these products often find damage or types of defects such as glue caulking, open joint assembly, defective venner, and rough finish. In dealing with such a situation, the company needs to carry out quality control. Quality control aims to be able to identify factors - factors that can affect product defects in order to produce products that meet consumer expectations. In this study, the Quality Control Circle (QCC) approach was used which aims to find the main problem of defects as well as the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method to examine the problem as a whole by setting the highest Risk Priority Number (RPN) and then looking for the root cause of the problem. can cause defective products and provide recommendations for improvements to these problems. The results of the study showed that there were 4 types of defects, namely 124 units of glue/putty,63 units of bad assembly, 48 units of defective veneer, and 34 units of rough finish. The factors that cause these defects are human factors, methods, materials, and the environment. The highest RPN result occurred in the type of glue/putty defect with a value of 180. So recommendations for improvement to reduce the number of defects include establishing an SOP to provide information to employees regarding the ongoing production process and providing supervisory personnel so that employees can work with more focus. And the results of the repair obtained the proportion of defects from 4,6% to 3,4%. The cost borne by the company is IDR 63.873.305. Keywords: Defects, Quality, QCC, FMEA .
