Abstract
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan jenis dan makna dari onomatope yang terdapat pada manga "Gyakuten Saiban" berdasarkan jenis klasifikasinya kemudian menjabarkan makna kontekstualnya. Langkah-langkah proses pengumpulan data dimulai dari Memilih manga berjudul Gyakuten Saiban, Membaca dialog percakapan dalam manga, Mengumpulkan data dengan cara mencatat onomatope-onomatope yang terdapat pada manga, Memilah data berdasarkan jenis klasifikasinya, sampai menyusun 5 tabel data sesuai dengan jenis klasifikasinya. Dari penelitian ini diperoleh hasil berupa 35 kata onomatope terdiri dari 11 kata giongo sebagai tiruan bunyi dari benda mati, 2 kata giseigo sebagai tiruan bunyi dari makhluk hidup, 3 kata gitaigo yang menyatakan keadaan benda mati, 2 kata gijougo yang menyatakan keadaan hati atau perasaan manusia dan 17 kata giyougo yang menyatakan keadaan atau tingkah laku makhluk hidup. Onomatope yang sering digunakan adalah giyougo yang menyatakan keadaan atau tingkah laku makhluk hidup.
