Abstract
UD. Surya Sejati was established in 2008, located on Jl. Jepara Gg. 5, Krembangan sub-district. It is a factory that specializes in manufacturing stackable chair frames, stackable chair backrests, and lecture table tops. One of the special products in this factory is the production of lecture table tops, which are considered minimalist and widely used in most universities. The production capacity for lecture table tops in this factory is 48 pcs/day. One of the challenges in the factory is during the production of lecture table tops, specifically in the smoothing process, where it requires 2 workers to manually operate a planer. If done with only 1 worker, it could jeopardize safety and slow down the production time for manufacturing stackable chair frames, which have higher orders compared to lecture table tops. With these existing issues, this research aims to assist UD. Surya Sejati in accelerating the smoothing process by designing a table sanding machine, taking into account the anthropometry of each worker's body dimensions, to speed up production time and minimize interference with other tasks by involving only 1 operator, with the hope of increasing production capacity.
