Abstract

Job characteristics are the various responsibilities and duties that are assigned to individuals that are crucial to the success and long-term viability of an organization. At the PT Santos Jaya Abadi Sidoarjo Plant, this study aims to examine the impact of job characteristics and employee job commitment on employee job satisfaction. In this business, keeping good personnel and boosting organizational productivity depend heavily on employee job satisfaction. Therefore, it's important to have a solid understanding of the elements that affect employee job satisfaction. This method employs a quantitative approach and data collection methods using questionnaires sent to PT Santos Jaya Abadi - Sidoarjo Plant personnel. Permanent workers who have been employed at PT Santos Jaya Abadi - Sidoarjo Plant for more than a year make up the research sample. Suitable statistical methods were used to analyze the data that had been collected. The findings of this study show a positive and significant association between Employee JobwSatisfaction and Job Characteristics, which include elements like skill variety, task identity, task relevance, autonomy, and feedback. This suggests that employees tend to be more content with their work the more varied the tasks they are given, the more autonomy they are given, and the more feedback they receive. Additionally, this study discovered a strong and favorable association between employee job satisfaction and employee job commitment. High commitment employees are more likely to be satisfied with their work and the firm. PT Santos Jaya Abadi - Sidoarjo Plant can focus on the significance of suitable job features and developing Employee Job Commitment to increase job satisfaction based on these findings. In the long run, increasing employee job satisfaction is anticipated to benefit overall business performance and productivity.
