Abstract

With the existence of the TikTok application, which is currently widely used, it is being used all over the world. The advantage of using this application is the advertising utilized by entrepreneurs to promote their products, including the advertisements from Scarlett Whitening. This research aims to determine the influence of Scarlett Whitening advertising exposure on TikTok on the purchasing interest and the extent of the influence of Scarlett Whitening advertising exposure on TikTok on the purchasing interest of the 2018 cohort of Social and Political Science (FISIP) students at UNTAG Surabaya. The theory used in this research is the S-R theory. The exposure to Scarlett Whitening advertising on TikTok has a significant influence on the purchasing interest of FISIP students at UNTAG Surabaya. The results of this research were also obtained from SPSS, where the coefficient of determination showed that advertising exposure has a significant effect on purchasing interest, explaining 64.7% of the variance, while the remaining 35.3% represents variables not included in this study. However, there are still other factors, accounting for 35.3%, that influence purchasing interest besides advertising exposure. The results of the ttable test for each sub-category (frequency, intensity, and duration) were 3.905, 3.511, and 2.782, respectively. These figures indicate that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, while the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. Keywords : Advertisement Impressions, Tiktok, Scarlett Whitening, Purchase Intent
