Abstract

This research uses descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the communication system in the Kalimasada program in Genting Kalianak Village, Asemrowo District, Surabaya City. The evaluation uses the stages of a communication audit (Rosli & Bungin, 2022). The stages include: identifying problems and developing frameworks; diagnosis; planning and conducting audits; recommendations; and assessments. These stages have been measured using organizational communication aspects, namely: communication climate, organizational satisfaction, information dissemination, information load, information accuracy, and organizational culture. The process of collecting data using interviews, observation, documentation, and internet searching the data analysis method uses the Rosli and Bungin communication audit model. The validity of the data using source, technique, and time triangulation. The results showed in the early stages, there were problems in the communication system and information flow between agencies and the community. The identification process resulted in two recommendations, which were given with the approval of the Lurah and the Head of the Genting Kalianak Sub-District Administration, namely: adding a service schedule on saturdays and holding a content editing process related to Kalimasada. In the process of the audit stage it produces according to the aspects of the organizational communication profile, namely; communication climate in the form of an agency approach to the community by holding outreach about kalimasada on a regular basis, organizational satisfaction creating a community environment that is aware the administration, dissemination of information in the form agency is feedback in providing content related to the importance of kalimasada through Instagram and PKK Whatsapp Group of Genting Kalianak Village, information load namely messages or information are still not fully understood by the public and Information Accuracy form public perceptions of the amount information receive and understand by adding criticism and suggestions.
