Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out the factors that support andhinder the role of lurah leadership in improving the performance of employees in the Menur Peumpungan Village, Sukolilo District, Surabaya City. Basedonthe observations of researchers during the internship, they found a lack of adherence to rules and regulations, sub-district regulations that wereburdensome to employees, in addition to a leadership style and motivationthat was quite high. Then comes the thought of how all of these factors are mutuallysustainable so as to af ect employee performance. The type of research used is secondary research and primaryresearch, Primary research is research that uses observation or observations obtained directly at the research location by researchers and primary researchis also research that can be obtained directly or uses interview methods andalso uses questionnaires to parties parties who have an important role intheresearch conducted. The advantage of primary research is that the dataobtained is very accurate because the data is obtained directly fromthe first hand, there is no scattering of data. In addition, this research can alsobeadapted to personal and organizational needs. Based on the results of interviews obtained by researchers, it canbeconcluded that The role of a leader in the Menur pumpungan sub-district has achieved quite maximum results, the leader has carried out his role inaccordance with the existing indicators. The Head of the Menur PumpunganSub-District is very enthusiastic about improving the performance of his employees. With the motivations he gives to members of the employees sothat members or Kelurahan employees always think positively among fellowemployees and also with the community. Improving performance in an agencydepends on the firmness of a leader in making decisions.
