Abstract

One of the radios in Surabaya with a citizen journalism format and trusted by fans is Suara Surabaya radio with consideration of the quality of the program presentation and the skill of the broadcaster. The announcer is the sole resource person with mastery of the skills to liven up the program so that it can influence listener appreciation. Broadcasters use broadcast techniquesAt Libitum (adlibbing) and reading the script (script reading). The potential of Suara Surabaya radio has made the Surabaya City Government build a partnership to create the Surabaya Mobile program, where the program is the result of an initiative by both parties. Surabaya Moves, departs from the idea of reviving the identity of Surabaya residents, namely the spirit of gotong royong as one of the elements of social bonding. The research objective was to observe and analyze the broadcasting techniques used by Suara Surabaya radio announcers according to the rhetorical theory (Logos, Ethos, Pathos, Persuation, Style, Delivery). This study used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, while data collection techniques used interviews, observation, and documentation. The results showed that the broadcast technique in the Surabaya Mobile program had a significant effect in arousing the spirit of gotong royong as a social glue for the citizens of Surabaya. So it can be concluded that adlibbing and script reading techniques in the Surabaya Move program, adapted to rhetorical theory, are able to influence Surabaya residents to revive the habit of mutual cooperation as social glue.
