Abstract

The development of UMKM competitiveness is currently strongly influenced by various factors, where human resources play an important role. In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, some people have new habits to overcome boredom, including planting ornamental plants. Since the pandemic and the trend of ornamental plants came suddenly, the popularity of ornamental plants has increased sharply, which means it is profitable for ornamental plant businesses. The importance of knowledge and experience regarding good plant care techniques, as well as the importance of interacting with consumers are important factors in achieving business success. In this study, the authors conducted research related to Entrepreneurial Skills and Human Resource Competencies on Business Success. The research method used is a quantitative method with saturated or census side techniques, where all members of the population are sampled. The data sources used are primary data and secondary data sources. The data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that from the t test and F test conducted, it appears that the variables of Entrepreneurial Skills and Human Resource Competencies partially and simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on Business Success in small business actors in the Bratang Flower Market Surabaya. To improve Human Resource Skills and Competencies it is necessary to have training, experience, and learn various planting techniques. In addition, the importance of communicating and interacting with consumers in maintaining relationships. Keywords: Skills, Human Resource Competencies, Business Success
