Abstract

Along with the development of the times and technology, the human mindset in disseminating information, thoughts, ideas or messages individually or in groups can be conveyed by any media and in various ways. One way is to convey communication with visualization. Submission of visual communication can be in the form of illustrations, symbols, or a design in the form of an image that explains a message. This is a new phenomenon in conveying messages with a specific purpose which of course has meaning or significance. In the delivery of communication messages related to social matters in humans. However, life is not always filled with good things, many negative things happen in human life, such as legal, educational, political, religious, and other topics. This is what makes individuals or groups have a thought that is conveyed in the form of positive and negative perceptions. Conveying messages in visual communication can be channeled through works of art in the form of murals. A mural is a work in the form of an image that is conveyed in a certain place with a certain motive. It can be in the form of a good message, or a message that satirizes a party. Therefore, researchers are interested in knowing the perceptions of murals according to street artists after the removal of murals by police officers and Satpol PP on August 13, 2021. In this study, the authors used a qualitative descriptive method to be able to find the answers they were looking for in the form of descriptions of words. The author conducts interviews, observations and also documentation to be able to find the answers needed. Keywords: Perception, Mural, Deleted Mural, Criticism Mural
