Abstract
This study discusses "Implementation of the Marketing Communication Strategy of the East Java Culture and Tourism Office in Increasing Local Tourist Visits at the Surabaya Zoo", which in this tourist destination offers a fairly complete range of animals and has become one of the most popular zoos in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the implementation of the marketing communication strategy of the East Java Culture and Tourism Office in increasing the attractiveness of local tourists to one of the tours in Surabaya, namely the Surabaya Zoo by using qualitative methods. The research data was obtained by means of interviews, observation, and documentation. The form of implementing the marketing communication strategy used by the East Java Culture and Tourism Office to increase tourist visits to the Surabaya Zoo is by interactive marketing, direct marketing, and public relations which are used as promotional media and to interact more closely and directly with potential visitors or the public with responding to suggestions from the public, responding to comments on social media both positive and negative. Without realizing it, this is a natural way to convey information about tourism to more people. This is used by the East Java Culture and Tourism Office as information that can be used to attract local tourists, especially to the Surabaya Zoo.
