Abstract
CNC Milling is a machine-operated fabrication tool that is programmed and managed by a Computer Numerical Control system to cut and shape materials into products or objects that have been designed according to what the program instructs. In this milling machining process, there are machining residues commonly called scrap, this scrap will be moved and pushed using a screw conveyor into the disposal tub. The use of this screw conveyor is due to its easier manufacture. ASTM A36 iron is a low-carbon steel that has good strength and is also coupled with steel properties that can be deformed using machines and welding. Galvanized iron is iron that has been coated with zinc finishing with a high purity concentration of 99.7%. With the development of technology, there is now many CAD (Computer Aided Design) software, one of which is Solidworks software which is used to create a screw conveyor design or prototype. In this study, loading simulation tests will be carried out with material variations (ASTM A36 and Galvanized Steel) and pitch length variations (100 mm, 125 mm, 150 mm). The method used to analyze this screw conveyor is the Finite Element Method, which is to carry out static loads to determine the value of stress, strain, displacement, and factor of safety (FOS) using the SolidWorks software. The result of this research is a screw conveyor with a pitch length of 100 mm and ASTM A36 material which is given a load of 27.5 N.
