Abstract

This thesis aims to find out the form of legal protection given to consumers and to find out the legal protection that consumers get against falsification of halal certification and to find out the form of being responsible for food products sold through the Gofood application if they are not halal. The formulation of the problem is a form of legal protection for consumers by counterfeiting halal certification which is traded on Gofood Service Media. The research method is normative juridical, namely a study using literature on laws and regulations related to issues regulated in the statutory approach is used to examine regulations related to consumer protection regulations, namely Law Number 8 Year 1999 Concerning Consumer Protection. While the conceptual approach is used because of legal issues at the level of legal theory (concept). In this case, the concept used is the basic concept of consumer protection, rights and obligations for consumers and business actors, sanctions given to business actors who violate consumer rights and others. The results of this study indicate that the laws and regulations governing halal certification and halal labeling have not fully provided legal certainty for Muslim consumers regarding food and other products.
