Abstract

Pengguna sosial media Twitter berasal dari berbagai kalangan yang sangat luas dan mereka bebas untuk mengekspresikan dirinya di platformi tersebut. Namun tak jarang hal tersebut justru memancing reaksi-reaksi negatif yang tak dapat dihindari oleh penggunanya. Oleh sebab itu, tak jarang mereka melakukan kecenderungan self injury akibat tidak mampu mengelolah emosi mereka ketika cuitan mereka mendapatkan respon yang negative, begitu pun sebaliknya. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi pengguna Twitter melakukan kecenderungan self injury adalah kecemasan akibat dari respon yang mereka terima. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kecemasan dengan kecenderungan self injury pada pengguna media sosial Twitter. Penelitian ini melibatkan 100 remaja pengguna media sosial Twitter yang mengikuti akun @sbyfess dengan usia 18-21 tahun. Hasil penelitian melalui uji korelasi Pearson Product Moment menunjukkan bahwa nilai rxy = 0,361 dengan signifikansi 0,000 (p<0,01) yang artinya menunjukkan bahwa adanya hubungan positif yang sangat signifikan antara kecemasan dengan perilaku kecenderungan self injury. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut maka dapat diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa semakin tinggi tingkat kecemasan pada pengguna media sosial Twitter maka semakin tinggi perilaku kecenderungan self injury, begitupun sebaliknya. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, maka hipotesis dapat dinyatakan dapat diterima.
