Abstract

Early adult women who use social media excessively will result in increasing the intensity of using social media. This can cause the formation of selfidentity to become more often feeling overthinking and insecure or feeling distrustful of oneself which results in a feeling of inferiority or a feeling of discomfort that is often felt by early adult women who often compare themselves to the achievements of others only through posts on social media. Sampling used a purposive sampling technique involving 113 early adult female social media users in Indonesia aged 20-40 years. The results of the study through the product moment correlation test showed that the correlation between inferiority and self-confidence = 0.542 with a significance of 0.000 (p <0.05), meaning that there is a very significant negative relationship between inferiority and self-confidence. So the higher the inferiority, the lower the self-confidence. conversely, the lower the inferiority, the higher the self-confidence. then the hypothesis is declared proven and can be accepted.
