Abstract
Harian Disway online media as a new media is here to provide a variety of information that meets the needs of the community. In the digital world, there are many various online media that are spread, various response of course arise from each community and become a separate assessment of the media. The aim of the study was to find out the public's response of the presence of the Harian Disway online media. This research literature review uses the concepts of new media, online media, media convergence, response and uses and gratification theory. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research. Data collection techniques were carried out using interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that Harian Disway, which started from conventional media and has now switched to online media, has implemented the concepts of new media and online media. By changing the system to a digital form, Harian Disway has also adapted to the concept of digital convergence so that its various information can be well received by the whole community. Community responses that shape Harian Disway online media response can determine how people choose media as a source of their information needs.
